What is the North Bay Construction Corps? It’s a construction career exploration opportunity and a basic skills training program for North Bay high school seniors in their last semester. It prepares young people for a rewarding career in the building industry.
The 130-hour Corps program starts in May, and is followed by a one-week intensive career exploration and basic skill building session (“the Corps”), then a two-week Boot Camp in June after students graduate. The goal is to prepare the young men and women students who participate for entry-level positions in the high-paying, gratifying world of construction.
During the Corps, students meet every day for a week to develop building skills and experience with hand tools and heavy equipment. The training sessions are conducted by local construction industry professionals to ensure that students are getting real-world instruction.
There are Chapters in Sonoma County, but students from Napa, Lake and Mendocino are encouraged to apply. There is also a Chapter in Marin managed by the Marin Builders Association.
Applications will be available in March of 2022. If you have questions, please contact Robin Bartholow, NBCC Director or Katie Ruppe, NBCC Assistant Director at (707) 542-9502.
